Helping Provide Eyecare For The Homeless

VCHP provides eyecare services to homeless people in the United Kingdom within an environment in which they feel welcome and comfortable.

The charity’s aim is to preserve, protect and promote the ocular health of homeless and vulnerable people in the UK who are unwilling or unable to access mainstream services available through the country’s National Health Service. Their reach includes screening of ocular health and the provision of spectacles.

Following the pandemic, VCHP has reopened clinics in Leeds and London. Preparations for Manchester are under way and Exeter, Birmingham, and Brighton.

‘Now, more than ever, we all are thinking about the things that really matter to us. The things that are truly important have become clearer. The coronavirus has caused us to reassess what we value as we come to accept a ‘new normal’ and focus on what we really need,’ comments Peter Reeve, Managing Director, STEPPER UK. ‘It also empowering to support an organisation that assists those whom we can help directly.’
